Fear & Faith

Then He (Jesus) arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them (His Disciples), “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
— Mark 4:39-40

Here we find Jesus displaying His power to build up the faith of the disciples. The thing that always gets me about this story is that the disciples had already seen Jesus perform many miracles, but in the midst of this storm they cowered under their fear and doubt.

How many times have you seen Jesus move in miraculous ways throughout your life? If you’re like me, at the onset of a seemingly untamable storm, somehow you may forget about the past miracles that the Lord has done in your life. We must be mindful of the fact that our faith is pleasing to God. Jesus loves it when we believe in His power.

Worshipping the Lord from a standpoint of faith is of utmost importance. You see, if we don’t acknowledge the fullness of His power when bowing in reverence, then we bow from a perspective of a shakable foundation. However, our Savior is an immovable Rock and we ought to worship Him as such!
